Dr. Oz has Marilu Henner?s new 7 day energy plan on the show today but starts out with more embarrassing health questions from viewers. We get the 5 most embarrassing health questions of all time today and we have them for you. First, we get a woman who gets large pimples on her rear end and they are painful. She calls them ?butt boils? but Oz says these are just normal pimples cause by an infected hair follicle. He recommends that you soak in a warm epsom salt bath to let the pimples pop naturally.
Next, have you ever experienced intense pleasure from jogging? You may be having a jogasm then. Oz says this is perfectly normal and actually thinks the lady is very lucky. He says it is because of the endorphins being released while you are running and the natural friction that occurs between your legs. The third topic is called ?Moop? and it mucus filled poop. Oz says this happens after eating a spicy meal because the body is protecting itself from the spicy food. He says we can avoid it by eating more olives, peanut butter or avocados before you have a spicy meal.
The second most embarrassing question is about armpit sweat and the ?pit stains? we get on our clothes. Oz says we all sweat but some things cause us to sweat more. Stress, spicy foods, synthetic fabrics, caffeine, and certain prescription drugs will get you glands going full blast. He recommends using sweat pads under the arms to keep it from getting on your clothing.
The most embarrassing health question of all time is when someone asks you when your baby is due. He says this can lead to a lot of stress in a woman who is not pregnant and has some kind of bloating problem. To reduce belly bloating, you need probiotics and you can also eat kimchi, sauerkraut, and miso soup.
Now Marilu Henner comes out on the show. She looks great and she is 60 years old. When Henner was 30, she lost her dad from a heart attack and she said that she decided to get her health under control. So what is her secret? She says we need to eliminate all chemicals from our diets. That means no diet soda or any processed food. Henner took drastic steps and got rid of all sugar, dairy, and caffeine.
Oz asked about the dairy and she said it was the best thing she could have done for her lifestyle. None of her kids have ever had a glass of milk or a cheeseburger. She says dairy is bad for us and Oz couldn?t counter here because she is living proof it works. Henner also said we need to add hydration as a food group. The food pyramid talks about foods but Marilu believes that we need to focus on what we drink also.
Now Henner says that her vegan lifestyle is what she believes helped her control her menopause symptoms. She says her journey was a long lifestyle change and others should try to progress slowly just like she did. She says no one can change over night and we are all at different stages in our health. she jokes that she is still making changes and she has been doing this for over 30 years.
Marilu lost over 50 pounds when she switched to her vegan diet. She says we need to learn to combine foods to get our energy back in as little as seven days. This is an old idea and Oz admits most of us could benefit from it. She says we need to look at food in three groups: starches, proteins, and fruits. She says if you eat a starch and a protein, you need to add legumes to the mix or you will feel exhausted. Legumes help with digestion and eating a heavy meal of these two items cause your body to work overtime to digest it.
She says we need to add some beans and salsa to our egg and toast breakfast, eat mashed potatoes with your lunch salad, and eat peanuts, which are great legumes, with your dinner meal. She also says we need to eat ?wet? foods with every meal. Celery, lettuce, and other veggies that contain water are the best way to stay hydrated. Henner also says eat your fruits as snacks and try to keep them separate from your meals.
Amazingly enough, Marilu is one of the few people in the world that can totally recall all of her life events. She even has this documented and Oz is amazed. She wrote a book called ?Total memory Makeover? so share ways we can all improve our memory. The key thing is to find out what type of memory you have and the sense that you use most in remembering things.
Some people associate memories with a smell, some sight, some sounds, some taste, and some by touch. You need to focus and figure out what sense you use and then try to remember events based on it. She says doing this will get your brain rewired and your memory will be much better. Just try to think about an event and see what sense you associate these memories with the most.
