Montague's football team defeated Hart 51-0 on Thursday, but it could prove to be a costly win.

The Wildcats lost quarterback Brandon Moore (leg), running back Brandon Stine (elbow) and lineman Billie Welch (knee) to injuries in the victory.

Montague plays at Oakridge next week in an early West Michigan Conference showdown and Wildcats? coach Pat Collins is unsure of the status of those three senior captains.

?I don?t know. I?d probably say no that they won?t be able to play against Oakridge,? Collins said.

Carroll came on in relief of Moore, a Division I recruit as a wide receiver, and hit on 7-of-8 passes for 141 yards and four touchdowns against Hart.

?He?s a gamer and likes to compete and get after it,? Collins said.

Collins is disappointed by the injuries, but not the play of his team. The Wildcats have started the season by posting shutout wins against Orchard View and Hart.

?Our guys are giving 100 percent every day,? Collins said. ?We?re real pleased with what they?re doing.?

He said the Wildcats will need to adapt their gameplan and have players fill in and step up against Oakridge.

?With this group, every one of the guys we love. It?s a great group,? Collins said. ?They love to play football and have fun.?
